POP Goes The World!

May 2010

We’re all SO VERY proud of you!

As you can see,The Monday Morning Breakfast Blend family (with one new exception) isn't much for non of that fancy book learnin' stuff.

In fact, the only school that WE think is worth getting any kind of one of them there high falootin'  fancy "degrees" in,is OLD SKOOL (that's right, with a "k")!!!

So being that it's my turn, once again,to host our 80's show,"Songs From The Big Hair",this Saturday (5/29),I'm gonna take it a step back further this morning and give you a prelude,as it were, and play nothing but Old Skool 70's.

Lydia’s Son’s Show

My fourth annual tribute to my mother.

Since yesterday was Mothers Day and I don't get to celebrate it anymore since my mother has since passed,I've been taking The Monday Morning Breakfast Blends the day after mother's day and paying tribute to her by playing some of her favorite songs. My mother was a very musical person and I inherited my love for music from her. Because of her,I grew up exposed to some of the most beautiful songs in the great American songbook. As an child I would beg my mother to turn off that horrible "old person's music". Now,of course, some 35 odd years later,it's the purest music I know. So here's hoping that wherever she may be,she's singing and dancing along.

The Lusty Month Of May

It's May, the lusty Month of May That lovely month when everyone goes blissfully astray Tra la, it's here, that shocking time of year When tons of wicked little thoughts merrily appear

It's May, It's May, that gorgeous holiday When every maiden prays that her lad will be a cad It's mad, it's gay, alive, a lust display Those dreary vows that everyone takes, everyone breaks Everyone makes divine mistakes The Lusty Month of May

Whence this fragrance wafting through the air? What sweet feelings does it's scent transmute? Whence this perfume floating everywhere? Don't you know, it's that dear forbidden fruit

It's May, the lusty month of May That darling month when everyone throws self-control away It's time to do a wretched thing or two And try to make each precious day one you'll always rue

It's May, it's May, the month of "Yes, you may" The time for every frivolous whim, proper or im- It's wild, it's gay, depraved in every way The birds and bees with all of their vast amorous past Gaze at the human race aghast The Lusty Month of May

It's May, it's may, the month of great dismay when all the world is brimming with fun, wholesome or un- It's mad, it's gay, alive a lust display Those dreary vows that everyone takes, everyone breaks Everyone makes divine mistakes The Lusty Month of May
